ASEZ WAO Cleanup Brings Volunteers Together in Elmwood Park

On Sunday, May 3, ASEZ WAO volunteers partnered with the Elmwood Park Borough Council for a town-wide spring cleanup.

Approximately 75 volunteers gathered across five locations throughout Elmwood Park, New Jersey. The cleanup was a part of ASEZ WAO’s global Green Earth project to protect the environment through volunteer service.

Supporting Environmental Action Through the Green Earth Project

The Green Earth Project focuses on protecting land environments and promoting sustainable communities. Through this initiative, ASEZ WAO volunteers take action to care for the planet and encourage environmental responsibility.

With gloves and trash bags in hand, volunteers worked together to remove litter, clear debris, and improve public spaces. As a result, the cleanup helped refresh the borough and create safer areas for residents and families to enjoy.

In addition, the event showed how small acts of service can create meaningful improvements when community members work together.

Community Leaders Recognize Volunteer Efforts

Meanwhile, local officials expressed their appreciation for the volunteers’ dedication and the visible improvements throughout Elmwood Park.

Council President Lorraine Pellegrine thanked the volunteers for their hard work. She also recognized the positive impact of the cleanup and the importance of community involvement.

Through this partnership, ASEZ WAO and the Elmwood Park Borough Council demonstrated how collaboration can help build a cleaner and more connected community.

Volunteers Strengthen Community Connections

For many volunteers, the event was an opportunity to connect with neighbors and take meaningful action for the environment.

Additionally, volunteers worked side by side at all five cleanup locations. Through teamwork, positivity, and dedication, they helped create a stronger sense of community.

The initiative also supported the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including goals focused on sustainable cities and communities, climate action, and protecting life on land.

Continuing Global Environmental Efforts With ASEZ WAO

Through the Green Earth Project, ASEZ WAO volunteers continue environmental activities around the world. Furthermore, these efforts demonstrate the importance of protecting the planet through consistent community action.

Ultimately, the Elmwood Park cleanup was another example of how collective action can create positive change. When people come together with one heart, even small efforts can leave a lasting impact.
