Fifty ASEZ STAR student volunteers took action in cleaning the Ridgefield Nature Center in Ridgefield, NJ. Because the nature center is a key part of the community, volunteers worked to keep it clean and welcoming for everyone. This event also highlighted ASEZ STAR’s Green World Campaign. The campaign leads efforts to improve local communities and prevent future environmental damage.
ASEZ STAR Green World Campaign in Action
The trails where Ridgefield residents once walked through became covered in leaves and litter. With the local people in mind, the students did not hesitate to put their gloves on and begin to work. The student volunteers collected more than 30 bags of leaves and 10 bags of litter in just two hours.
Familiar faces to the local community joined ASEZ STAR volunteers for the event. Mayor Hugo Jimenez attended together with four councilmen to support the students and their dedication. Councilman Mohammed Said noted, “It’s amazing to see the youth getting involved with a cause so important to us.” He continued, “It shows promise to me that the youth will take care of what we need to take care of.” Without a doubt, the efforts of the student volunteers bring hope to local leaders and residents. Though young, they are the future leaders who are taking action in creating a safer and stronger environment for everyone.
Ridgefield Honors ASEZ STAR with Proclamation
The Ridgefield local government honored ASEZ STAR with a special proclamation after the event. The proclamation praised the volunteers for their dedication in making the Ridgefield Nature Center cleaner and safer. This event shows that when the youth work together, they can make a big difference in their society.
