The Heavenly Family and Heavenly Mother
Mothers play a pivotal role in shaping the development of their children. Every action, word, and deed has a profound impact on their emotional well-being, laying the foundation for future relationships. The affection and love a mother provides becomes the bedrock that guides a child’s path. Furthermore, a mother’s strength and resilience serve to unite the members of the household. God, in His wisdom, carefully designed the function and significance of mothers.
The Bible teaches that earthly systems are reflections of the invisible, spiritual world.
“They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven.”
Just as Moses built the earthly sanctuary based on the original in heaven, the family system on earth was established first in heaven. God gave us our families on this earth to help us understand the members of the spiritual family.
God’s people are referred to as children (2Co 6:17–18), and God is acknowledged as a father (Mt 6:9). So, the heavenly family system is validated by the presence of a Mother, who holds the essential role of being the primary life-giver.
Observing the love and concern of a mother and her central role in the family proves that the spiritual family undoubtedly includes a mother.
“But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.”
Moreover, our mothers make tremendous sacrifices, offering their bodies and lives to give birth and care for their children. Similarly, Heavenly Mother bestows eternal life and love upon the people of God through her sacrifice.
