On April 27, 2025, ASEZ WAO volunteers gathered at Stoney Brook Community Farm and Garden in Hanover Township, NJ, to refresh the garden for the upcoming growing season. This hands-on event brought together community members, local officials, and gardeners ready to work.
Mayor Thomas “Ace” Gallagher joined the effort alongside Ronald Francioli, Township Committee Liaison to the Garden, and Denise Brennan, Superintendent of Parks and Recreation. Together, they helped lead the day’s activities.
Volunteers pulled weeds, prepared and built plant beds, constructed new wood frames, and spread mulch and wood chips to revitalize the garden space. These tasks created a better environment for plants and supported community access to fresh food and flowers.
The event highlighted a collaborative effort with Hanover Township to emphasize sustainability and the power of local partnerships in maintaining public green spaces. A portion of the crops grown will be donated to a local food pantry.

Leading by Example and Giving Back
Pablo Loarte shared, “It felt amazing to be part of something that brings people together for a good cause. Volunteering with ASEZ WAO gave me the chance to give back to the community — and I’m grateful my company, Lucta USA, could support by donating gloves and snacks for everyone helping out. Small gestures really do make a big difference.”
Mayor Gallagher added, “It’s an honor to be here. I like seeing people working very hard, doing good work, and working towards the greater good. I want to thank [ASEZ WAO] for doing this, this is beautiful. I always say that the best way to lead is to lead by example. If you want people to work, if you want to inspire people, or you want to have a good outcome—grab a shovel and start digging. Be part of the solution.”
Through this event, ASEZ WAO’s Green Earth Campaign helped bring the community together to care for shared spaces and promote sustainability. These efforts strengthen the township and create lasting benefits for all.
