The Origin of Our Soul
To discuss the soul, it is important to understand it’s origin. Fortunately, its origin is clearly seen in the Bible.
“... you were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones.”
Ezekiel 28: 11-14
The above verse indicates that the King of Tyre was once a cherub, in other words, an angel with God before coming to this earth. However, this story is representative of all humans born in the flesh. Why then did mankind come to earth?
“... you were filled with violence and you sinned … so I threw you to the earth.”
Ezekiel 28:15-17
It’s evident that we sinned and were cast out of heaven. For this reason, Christ came to the earth 2,000 years ago to seek us, sinners who are lost from heaven, so that we may return to our true spiritual home.
“The Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.”
Luke 19:10
“For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Mattew 9:13
